XMAS DINNER 22-12-09

Volcom put on a Xmas dinner for all the staff and their better halves. It was held at the swanky Casino in Biarritz. The food was great and the drinks were flowing generously. So it didn't take long before everyone forgot the posh location and let their hair down. The band that whose whole set consisted of ACDC covers for sure helped with that!

STUDIO FEVER

I'm down on the south west coast of France for about 3 weeks to shoot some catalogs for Volcom. We're staying at Volcom team house in Hossegor and driving daily 30km south to Anglet, where the office and warehouse are. The first couple of days we set up the studio, did test shots and organized the clothing to shoot.

A big shout out to the best shoot team ever. Eve and Eilin, thanks to you both!

Shoot day #1

ZURICH -> HOSSEGOR

After a pretty boring and ass-numbing 13 hours behind the wheel we arrived early sunday morning at the beach in south west France. We will be here for about 3 weeks, shooting 2 catalogs.

Day one was nice and warm and we just chilled on the lawn, enjoying the sun. Next morning, it was stormy, classic Hossegor!


Sorta reminds me of flying over Canada








25 degree's in the sun, 20 minutes later howling wind and hail. Welcome to Hossegor.

BACK TO HINTERTUX

It was back to Hintertux after Dachstein. I only stayed 2 days more, the first being bad weather. The second day was bluebird but the lazy park dudes didn't shape anything so we got nothing done. Cheryl was playing around on the small kickers and ended up separating her shoulder. Bad end to that mission!

I drove 3 hours, nearly making it home before I realized that I'd forgotten my laptop bag, so it was a long drive back to get it. Dum-ass!









AFTER 4 DAYS AT HINTERTUX

After 4 days at Hintertux we drove a few hours over to the Dachstein Glacier where the Pleasure Jam was happening. There was a Volcom gathering there and Arne the ledgend booked us all 2 sweet chalets. We all hung out together for a couple of days. Cheryl and Norwegian ripper Torgeir both got 2nd in the comp. We stayed one day after and shot in the park a bit.

FOR MY FIRST FORAY ON THE SNOW

For my first foray on the snow this season I went to the Hintertux Glacier and met up with Cheryl Maas and Gary Greenshields. They were there getting some preseason shredding in. There were a couple of sunny days and it was just awesome being up in the mountains again after being in the city for some time.

VISIT AT NITRO!

A couple of weeks back I visited the guys at Nitro Switzerland. They hooked me up with sweet gear for the upcoming season.

I've been lucky enough to be using Nitro boards and bindings for the last couple of years now. Thanks to Andi and Hannes for making it happen. Now we just need some snow.
