SAUSAGE FEST !!!!
DARK BAR OCACTUS NENDAZ
27/03/2012

The theme of the evening put all ugly sweaters in the spotlight and especially the ones with "too creative" patterns. Free beers rewarded the ugliest, and sometimes even in spite of themselves...

On the menu, the traditional ingredients were gathered and accompanied by a specialty to spice up the evening: the Zekilla: a soft blend of tequila, cinnamon and chili!

All this warmed our hearts, at least enough for a comrade to feel comfortable and free to dance the way he wishes!

The soundtrack was provided by the Foufounes Cosmiques (cosmic pussies) who made everyone dance and sweat with severe punk remixes, making the atmosphere moist and deafening.

Un grand MERCI au Cactus Saloon , Tosh, Neige Aventure , Jimmy, Fredo, les Foufounes Cosmiques et les ugly people !
A huge THANKS to the Cactus Saloon , Tosh, Neige Aventure , Jimmy, Fredo, the Foufounes Cosmiques and all ugly people !

GRILLING IN SWISS CHEESE LAND
20/02/2012

But where is Marbach-Egg anyway? It’s a small resort located in the center of Switzerland, in the Emmental region (where the real swiss holed cheese come from). There, the shop chain Radix organised so called „Parkdays“ where shredders come together and ride with friends, along with coaches who were giving advices and filming participants. Besides learning new tricks together, people could spend the night on the mountain partying or night shredding.

Backflip session off the pipe
When we (swiss sales rep and marketing dude) arrived there, -12°C and 30 cm of fresh powder was welcoming us.
„Parkdays“ suddenly turned out to be „Powdays“! It was really sweet to ride the park with a downy cushion at the landing. The park features all kind of rails, boxes and a few kickers. But best of all was the pipe! It’s literrally carved in the earth with an old school shape, which was pure fun to ride and try new tricks. The Marbacher Park Crew helped us get everything ready; and by noon the BBQ was grilling all kind of sausages. We even made the locals discover „Merguez“ sausages! But it wouldnt have been a swiss event without some chocolate too!

Swiss rep Yannick ready for some serious grilling
Between runs, riders were pitsopping to warm up their hands and heart with tea, coffee and hand warmers. Other goodies like wax, sun screen or DVDs were offered. In the end, we all had great times together meeting new friendly people, discovering a new resort, riding some powder and pipe and savouring sausages of course!

Big thanks to all riders, Yanick, Radix shops, Eric, the Marbacher Park Crew, the ski resort and the Boucherie des Tilleuls!

SAUSAGE FEST PLAYA ESPAÑA, GIJÓN
31/08/2011

Last weekend we felt like grilling the barbecue down the beach, so we went down in Playa España - Villaviciosa Spain (Next to Gijón) and run a "Sausage Fest".
Some cool goodies were given while we played the horse shoe game, and hundreds of sausages got cooked for everyone.
People enjoyed a good surfing session from Gony Zubizarreta and local hero Fernando Pérez.

Everyone from the local scene came have some good time with us (Juan & Lucas Ley, Tino, Julio Reguero and Fernando Ferrao), and soon some Asturias´ cider bottles got opened.
Good vibes in Asturias as always. Thanks for the good times!!

SAUSAGE FEST ST LARY
17/01/2011
Despite the lack of snow in the Pyrénees we decided last Sunday to visit our friends at the ST LARY Snowpark and test the new BBQ.
It snowed all day but some fun shredding, the gluhwine and the free BBQ kept everyone warm.
Here is a mini clip that the KIM bros put together of our family rider Felix Cadiou, Stoneman and the folks having fun in the park.
If you’re around don’t hesitate to go say hi to the snowpark crew, they do a good job keeping the park fresh and in shape all season long.
SAUSAGEFEST IN NORWAY
17/11/2010
Saturday ,13 November the Volcom Circus headed down to Sports Extreme in Trondheim for a Volcom Sausagefest with a good old-fashioned railjam. In advance of this event the Sports Extreme Crew created a great set-up with two rails and a stair set.
We were fortunate with weather and the sun popped out a couple of times during the day. Volcom were in place with tents, music and free of charge sausages to all. Bomba Energy were on the spot with their own bar and a free Bomba to all throughout the day. When the clock turned 11 we started the registration, a good crow was already present for this year 's first railjam. Marcus Kleveland had taken the trip from Dombås to participate. More and more people arrived on the scene to compete and watch the railjam. The jam started at 12:00, the judges were handed the "secret trick" lists. On this list there were 14 different tricks. The rules for this part was simple: the first one to make the trick gets a prize. We also had prizes for the best overall girl, junior and senior.
The jam lasted for an hour which was filled with gnarly tricks and bails. Thomas Baxter proved that he is a railripper with smooth BS Lipslides and a lot of other tricks. Andreas Lona also demonstrated what he was capable of with nollie BS tailslides down the rail. Thea Foss impressed the crowd with a massive tailpress on the rail. We realized early that this would be a difficult job for judges. The Junior`s were on fire, Marcus Kleveland (age 11)! impressed the crowd with his stylish riding.
After an hour of jam the crowd and riders were ready for fun and games with Volcom. We did a darts contest with great prizes for all. The kids were filled to brim with sausages, energy drinks and stash. They were stoked!
After the darts competition, we did a Best Trick. Øystein Jacobsen AKA Jodd won the best trick with a huge 270 boardslide on the rail.
The day ended with a prize ceremony and giveaways. Thanks to all the participants, audience, Volcom, Electric, Sports Extreme, Response Distribution, Bomba Energy and “Coach” for this great event.

17/09/2010
On Saturday the 11th of September we went to Kempten in the very south of Germany for another Sausagefest together with the 5ive Skateshop.
We started the barbeque at 1:30 pm about 150 kids where hungry for action and some good old BRATWURST.
We prepared the screen printing and the kids kept us busy over the course of the afternoon as nearly 150 Shirts were printed.
Our Family Teamriders Stefan Brenner and Antonio Aiello were with us to help keep the kids in check, throw down some action and hand out goodies for nice tricks. At the end of the day everyone was well fed and happy with a new handprinted Volcom Brand Jeans tee.

SAUSAGEFEST IN MARSEILLE
22/07/2010
Some weeks ago we organized a sausage fest down at la Friche, the new streetpark of Marseille. The parks is situated between the train tracks an has a perfect setup, you can't get bored of this one!
We stayed 5 days more after to hit the streets, but the weather wasn't on our side most of the time, we got forced in to the futuristic halle de glisse for a day and where allowed to shred the well hidden concrete palace.
Definitely want to go back and explore Marseille a bit more in the nearby future. Check out this little clip to see what went down!

SAUSAGEFEST KAUNERTAL AUSTRIA
17/05/2010
The first week of May saw nearly 300 industry folk and riders head from the UK to kaunertal Austria to shred, shoot and ogle next years gear at the annual UK snowboard test so we thought It would be only fair for us to feed everyone.
The morning was pretty grim, visibility was not that great and a few peeps were abit bummed out, but by midday the cloud had burn off and the sun had began to shine just into time to fire up the BBQ.
Few beers were drunk lots of laughs shared, good times had by all.
Thanks to Pez from taking the photos

Hi again For the second time in a week it was time for a SausageFest. This time we were back in Stockholm and local hill Hammarbybacken. Together with the Hollywood-shop and local snowboard club SSAK we invaded the hill on thursday night. The day of the infamous "SSAK-training-day"... Just before closing-time all riders met up by the tent and voted on "tonights ripper" who walked away with a bunch of Volcom gear, a Hollywood-skate and a pair of Electric goggles.

SAUSAGE FEST KIRUNA
06/03/2010
Hi all
last weekend we went 1300 km up north to the small mining town Kiruna - home
of shred-legends and longtime teamriders
Björn Lindgren and Tomas "Knoddas" Johansson. The plan was to celebrate the
opening of their new snowpark together with
the kids and local shop "Enok". It was time for SausageFest!

A beautiful day in Kiruna. The worlds largest underground mine in the background.

Local hill "Luossabacken". No energy-drink-airbags in sight....

Lot of kids showed up.

BBQ Chefs Vera and Mange. Even the manufacturers of grills have jumped on the color-train....

One of the 160 grilled hotdogs made that day, successfully being delivered by Mange from the Enok Store...

Bjorn Lindgren practicing his baby-sitting-skills on Knoddas son Elliot...

Volcom and Enok giveaways being handed out during the day...
All and all it was a great day. Lot of stoked kids!!

SAUSAGE FEST AT SURFERS PARADISE-ST. ANTON-AUSTRIA
23/02/2010
Last Saturday, we teamed up with our local apres-riding hangout SUPA,
(Surfers Paradise) which happens to be the best snowboard store in all of St.
Anton, to throw a little party for the local beer drinking and snowboarding
community in Arlberg-Austria, home of the Volcom Euro snow team house.
The night before the 4pm kick off, we nearly emptied the local grocery store for sausages of all kinds, soft taco tortillas and I think 15 cases of beer, (but more would follow).
Since rumors of free beer travels faster than the speed of light in a ski town, every single member of the local poor and hurdled masses (and then some) were punctually banging on the shops door, at least an hour before kick off, while we were still doing our final pow turns. Will they ever in their entire lives be that punctual again?
If you've ever spent some time in a mountain resort without your head buried under the snow, then you're aware of the fact that free beer, free food and the lure of a potential encounter with members of the fairer sex, is as essential for survival in the snow as water and shelter from the sun is in the desert.
Then, there's not much else to say...The photos speak for themselves. The Australian and Swedish community came out in full force, pluss some lift crew and all the other usual suspects, blending in with ease with all the tourists.
Thanks to the fact we're in the middle of Swedish holidays weeks, a select lucky few got more than they bargained for, and by that I don' mean scoring some free Volcom gear in the compulsory product toss.
I'll give you a cue: Busloads of Swedish high school and college girls away from home on spring break + free alcohol = Needless to elaborate.
Assisted by the the best kick ass Rock playlist in town, and Volcom Classics The Garden and Subjekt Haakonsen screened inside the shop, the party lasted until long after late-nite dinner time and the last can of beer was drained.
We the organizers couldn't help but feel proud and honored for bringing some substance and direction in form of the above into so many people's lives... I almost shed a tear.
Big thanks to shop manager Wayne & his crew, the BBQ boys and everyone that came out...
See you again soon when the 5X5 photography exhibition, along with Gigi and Terje comes to town next month.

SAUSAGE FEST, GENEVA SWITZERLAND
14/09/2009
Last weekend over 100 kids, parents, veterans and friends showed up to skate and grill with us. It was a nice and warm summer day under a bridge in the middle of Geneva. A bit later (due to a fun night) our two family riders Jan Hofer and Maxime Kathari dropped into the park to show the kids how to "destroy" (by skateboarding, of course) a skatepark.
We organised five different kind of skate games during the afternoon. The ledge champ, miniramp killer, tic-tac race, manual challenge and at the end of the day an old school trick workshop for the kids. The atmosphere was epic even some daddy's took the boards of the kids to show us theirs tricks from the past sessions back in the days. Every sausage was eaten, the kids were tired and everybody left the place with a smile.
Thanks to:
Everybody showed up for this epic session....Thank you kids! Jim from PULP68 for the local knowledge and game support, Fredo for grilling the sausages, Mat for the generator and Miki for her charming helping hand.

Every sausage was eaten, the kids were tired and everybody left the place with a smile.
Thanks to:

SAUSAGE FEST CHELLES, FRANCE!
12/09/2009
Mid September we went in Chelles (north of Paris) to one of the biggest indoor skate park in France, COSA NOSTRA SKATE PARK, where rumors said the brand new concrete bowl was really fun to skate.
Locals built it last winter/spring in front of the indoor park and we came by and run a big Barbecue on a sunny afternoon for everyone wanting to join for a skate sesh and get some Volcom goodies.
That was a great day, and I would like to thank a lot all the Cosa Nostra staff for their work and their good mood, and Chloe for her kid management!!!

SAUSAGE FEST VALENCIA- SPAIN
04/08/2009
Past July 17th, we met some daggers at L´Eliana skatepark in Valencia.
The mission was easy: eat, drink and skate. We had to wait till 20:00
in the night to start with the party because it was soo hot outside!

SAUSAGE FEST IN HARLOW SKATEPARK , UK
30/06/2009
For 'Go Skateboarding Day' this year we headed up to Harlow Skatepark for a session and squeezed the BBQ into the car, too. The local crew we're fully in attendance along with half of the Death Pro's, The Crossfire squad, some of the youngest kids I've seen with what you could call a trick bag and a good dose of the older generation who are clearly still shredding.
The day was amazing. Full on sunshine all day (Something to be truly thankful for in the UK!) and a session which would come in waves - although I suspect this has something to do with the timings of the food!
The park is really good fun. Lines and ideas seem to only be limited by talent - the way it should be.

Sweent FS air
Keep your eyes out. I reckon the BBQ will be making a few more appearances sometime soon.
Thanks to www.caughtinthecrossfire.com for providing the photos and video and getting in on the session. Rob from http://www.harlowskatepark.blogspot.com/ hooked us up with the sequences, too. Cheers Rob!
