VOLCOM DARK BAR IN AIX 15/04/2009 We were in Aix (south east) for the third dark bar in France. This was a special one, because didn’t take place in a stinky pub, or dark venue, but in one of our accounts, and one of the biggest in France, CORE ZONE. The theme was Anchorman! And it was really funny to see so many Ron Burgundy a-likes in this town, not really used to that… Maybe people were excited to enter to win a Volcom suit….. I thought that running a Dark Bar in a shop wasn’t an easy thing to accomplish as it was not a bar… I was wrong. 7 pm: shop doors are closed. 7.15 pm: No more clothes in the store, everything in the back room 7.30 pm: Bar is built; with furniture, fridge, glasses, and even waiters. 7.45 pm: P.A works, people start to arrive. 7.50pm: Darkness! 8.00 pm: DJ Doddy plays her first song. 8.30 pm: Pizzas are delivered. 9.00 pm: Around 400 people are partying hard. 10.30: Municipal Police ask to Matt (Core Zone Manager) what’s happening, and why are there around 200 people in the street, he deals him for a discount the day after for another cop’s kid, and we can continue. 10:45 pm: Volcom suit is won! 11.00 pm: Alcohol starts missing, and I can’t believe it (we bought 800 local beers, La Cagole, 80 bottles of wine, 60 bottles of Alcohol, etc….). 00.30 am: Doddy set is over. 01.30 am: No remembers! The party was just amazing, and big thanks to CORE ZONE , Matt, who did a great job (especially with Police), Manon for pictures, and all the staff for the good mood, DJ DODDY and Emilie (again!).
