VALIENT THORR AND SEXTY SEXERS ON TOUR 08/07/2009 Valient thorr and Sexty Sexers Our favourite beard rockers from planet venus headed over to europe once more to do some serious damage. Starting off with a sold out support tour for Mastodon in the UK and ending up with a show at the legendary Crowbar in Soho/London and an autograph signing at the Volcom Store in London where the whole Mastodon and Motorhead crew showed up to hang out with the boys. After one week of non stop partying with Mastodon in the UK the 2 weeks off at our Surfteamhouse in Hossegor were more than needed. With our european sales meeting, the VQS surf contest and the "Fete de la musique" there was no time to get bored. The music fest in france is a national celebration day and every musician can play wherever and as loud as he wants and for once the cops can't do anything. So we though what better than putting the band on the back of a truck and have them playing wherever we go and it turned out to be a hell lot of fun. Check for the upcoming movie on volcomeurope.com On the 24th it was time to pack the bags and continue the european headlining tour in Hamburg. After a night on the world famous Reeperbahn Copenhagen/Christiania was next. Needless to say it was a blast! Berlin/Stuttgart/Biarritz in 30 hours by car including a show in Stuttgart is a damn long drive, but no problem for Klaus and his racing gloves. Biarritz was the first show with Sexty Sexers on board and the Atabal bar got turned upside down on a Monday night!! Barcelona was next and another 7 hours drive plus 2 hours in the rush hour traffic jam at 40 Degrees. We thought this was hot, but the small upstairs venue offered a bit more. Air as thick as tar and 50 degrees plus, but it didn't stop anyone from going crazy. The whole bar crew from Puerto Harracos Sisters Bar, where VT played last year came to party and hung out after the show. In Portugal we met up with our friends Men Eater for a show in Lisbon and Porto. The third time touring in Portugal has created a serious Thorrior chapter and crowded venues. The Musicbox was raging and it was by far the wildest crowd on the whole tour. Porto was on the next day and it was "only" a 4 hours drive...what a pleasure. The venue was an old boat in the harbour of porto and it turned out to be really cool and good sounding venue. The last stop was in Durango in the basque country which is sextys homeground. Needless to stay it was raging party.
