GIVE JEANS A CHANCE DONATIONS NOW
15/11/2012

Part of Volcom’s Give Back program, Volcom Europe is proud to announce the launch of the operation GIVE JEANS A CHANCE starting November 22nd in its stores in Hossegor, Bordeaux, Chamonix, Barcelona, London, London Boxpark, Falmouth, Berlin, Stuttgart and Munich.
According to various official surveys, there are between 4.5 and 8 million people living under the poverty threshold. The operation runs until December 31st 2012.

Volcom offers you the opportunity to bring your old jeans (that can still be worn) at the participating Volcom store of your choice in exchange of a free Volcom Entertainment CD Sampler and to participate in the draw to win a custom Volcom Snowboard.
All recovered jeans will be donated to a local homeless shelter organization which will distribute them for free to the needy. With winter approaching we are counting on all of you to make a simple charitable gesture.

Volcom has been developing a grassroots, catchy and growing donation program called Give Jeans a Chance for the past three years. It’s part of the Give Back series of programs, spearheaded by Derek Sabori, Volcom’s director of CSR and a 15-year Volcom veteran.

Buoyed by youthful exuberance and the endorsement of a range of Volcom-sponsored professional skateboarders, surfers, snowboarders and motocross riders, the Give Jeans a Chance program illustrates the power of a brand to reach out to its audience and spark a philanthropic spirit.

The Give Jeans a Chance program, which is specifically focused on donating jeans to youth in need — since as much as 40 percent of the homeless population has been under the age of 18 in recent years — and Volcom’s overall NEW FUTURE sustainability platform.

Last year, globally, we collected and distributed to multiple homeless shelters, almost 35,000 pairs of jeans and this year, we’re reaching out to you to help us match or beat that target.
