On Saturday, October 6th, after the summer tour all over Europe, Volcom Stone’s Wild In The Parks celebrated its European Championships in Sevilla, Spain at the Plaza de Armas skatepark.
This skateboarding contest has become a European benchmark over the years and once again was stocked full of action under the bright sun of Sevilla.

Roberto Aleman, Mark Appleyard, Aaron Suski, Javier Sarmiento and Axel Cruysbergs were our special guests to judge all the tricks that went down on the 3 areas of the skatepark. They also were seen signing autographs and destroying the course in between heats to the delight of the audience.

The 15 and Over division final was a war with loads of tricks going down on the three areas. Bruno Senra (last year 14- winner) was a standout in the qualifications with such tricks as kickflip crooks down the hubba, but he didn’t end up making it to the podium, as well as other kids killing it such as George Poole. In the end, Matisse Blanc from France took second place, landing full speed treflips over the big gap. Belgium skaters were fully represented with Jonathan Vlerick taking the second place and Simon Duprez taking the win killing it all day. He is now 500€ richer and won so much Volcom gear that he had to ask for some help to carry it all away.

We need to mention here local Carlos Neira was on fire, getting the support of the audience. Back to back on a broken board, he landed a boardslide, a nollie flip down the stairs and a back lip ! He was awarded the Electric hype of the day, hyping also all the locals!
Thaynan Costa from Portugal took the 3rd place and 500€ in style (switch heelflips down the gap, hardflip backlip on the rail etc…); Christian Estrada from Spain was tech and gnar at the same time and destroyed everything in his path into the 2nd place on the podium and 600€. The Open division 2012 Champion is Octavio Trinidade from Austria who impressed the most the judges.

Special thanks a lot to all the skaters and parents who made the trip, sometimes pretty far (driving all the way from Germany as for example).
And also we need to thank to everyone that help run this event smoothly: the staff, SVQ Sevilla Skate Club, IMPACT SEA, ELECTRIC and JART for the extra prizes and BURN for the free drinks and the PA system.
Thanks also to everyone who helped run this 9th European WITP season all over Europe ! See you all next year !
