Last Saturday June 2nd, the first stop of the European Wild In The Parks season went down in Leganés (Madrid), so in the morning, everyone was really pumped up including the Volcom Staff!

The level was really high in every category and with over 130 participants entering the contest, the field was packed, and the action non stop! Thanks to the WITP madness and good times, the free registration, drink and food, everyone was amped to start!

In the 14 and under division we had super good competitors, but Ivan Suarez skated like hell. He could have entered in Open division. In the 15 and over, some familiar names from past editions like Rafael Andres and Ivan Cueje were again killing the place, Ivan won in his category with tricks like fs feeble on the big rail.

But the big show came out with the opens. We could see skateboarding the best current riders of Madrid. Some of them pulled incredible tricks like Diego Cano nollie bs heel on the big stairs, David Edwards bs massive flip or Andrew Verde with his fakie treflips. But those were not enough to get on the top 5. Fernando Perez landed an unbelievable fs ollie fakie 5-0 on the big hubba straight to the 5th place. Danny Leon knows how to get on the podium. Treflips, flip fs boardslide, flip bs lipslide…and he got 4th. On the 3rd position we had Cristian Estrada.

This kid is the master of flip fs feeble on rails…amazing. Gonzalo Jimenez “Osito” charmed everyone in the place skating fast as hell. Fs bluntslide, bs tailslides…he even ollied up a double set of stairs…damn it!!. But no one could beat Roger Silva. The brazilian skated smooth and almost did not failed on anything he tried…sw tailslide, nollie 5-0s, nollie bs overkrooks, nollie noseblunt…he killed it.

As always the skaters and the public were stoked with such a season start for the Volcom Wild In The Parks.
