Torgeir is a man of few words. This 18-year old Norwegian from the redneck capitol of Trondheim learned at an early age that saying very little or nothing is better than saying something you’ll end up regretting or that will potentially cost you a broken nose. You see, growing up in Trondheim can be a traumatizing experience, if not blessed with the protective shelter of loving parents that have been to the outside world. Trondheim is where moonshine was invented, and there are parts of town where you DO NOT want to be seen, if not dressed in a leather vest and sporting a fully grown mustache. Torgeir however, was saved from all this. Not by drugs, or born-again Christianity-cults, but rather by the cathartic sounds of classic rock.
His old man raised him to the sound of pre-1982 Scorpions and Torgeir picked up his first guitar at the ripe old age of 7. Snowboarding entered his life 3 years later. The rest is, as they say, history.
After representing on Volcom’s family team for the last 3 years, not only by snow sliding down the hill in style, but also on the t-bar going back up, he earned himself a spot on the Euro team last summer by front-flipping 180 off a nearly 20 meter high cliff. Yup, in boxers only, into a glacier melt-off lake with a water temp no warmer than +6 degrees, with jaw-dropping shocked central Europeans as witnesses.
