Thomas Firestone is a 19-year old from Montafon-Austria.. We
first ran into him on his home turf 3 or 4 years ago… It seemed that every
time we rocked up in his valley on the hunt for powder, this little hyper
kid came out of the woods, stealing the best lines and tracking out the
goods in front of our very eyes, to the point were we figured “ If you can’t
beat him, join him”…
As it turns out, adding him to our ranks was a move as
smart as investing your savings in Apple shares a few months prior to the
release of the Iphone… Cause not only is Firestone a sick rider who’s got
the entire valley dialed, he can also find you accommodation when everything
is fully booked, and since his family owns lumps of land that the lifts and
après bars where built on, well, you can imagine the rest, right?
After some years on the family team, Thomas has, as of Fall 09, fully
deservingly earned himself a spot on Volcom’s European team, with
backcountry riding so solid it has brought him global acknowledgement..
Then
again, what else would you expect from an Austrian growing up in the middle
of powder heaven?
